I have been a qualified Audiologist for 18 years and have worked at HearingLife for the last 12 years. I have always had an interest in health sciences and had just completed a science degree and started working in a medical laboratory. During this time I began volunteering my time at the Royal Institute for Deaf and Blind Children in Sydney and this is where my passion for Audiology ignited. The experiences and interaction with the teachers, deaf children and children of deaf adults led me back to University to complete my Master’s Degree in Audiology where I was awarded the Phonak audiology prize. The field of audiology appealed to me because I love helping people achieve a better quality of life and the role involves constantly evolving technology and professional development. There is nothing more rewarding than seeing my clients’ social and psychological wellbeing improve, as a result of their hearing improving.
