Are you eligible for a free hearing solution?

Posted on Dec 21, 2015

As a pensioner, there are a range of government services accessible to you, but are you aware that hearing aid subsidies are one of them? If you have noticed a change in your hearing, it is important to get it checked out as soon as possible. This is because when left untreated, hearing loss can often become worse, as reported by the Scripps Research Institute.

The Australian Government Hearing Services Program provides subsidised hearing aids and assessments to people who fulfil certain criteria. Fortunately, the friendly staff at HEARINGLife are more than happy to assist you in verifying your eligibility and getting your hearing treated.

How do I know if I cam eligible?

If you hold a Pensioner Concession or a Gold Card from the Department of Veterans Affairs (DVA), you may be able to receive hearing services under the program1. This is also the case for holders of a DVA White Card that covers hearing loss1

Once your HEARINGLife practitioner has determined whether you are eligible for a subsidised hearing solution, they will be able to help you fill out any required paperwork to get your application rolling. This helps to not only make the process a much smoother one, but it also helps to minimise the wait time for you to be accessed.

When your application has been completed and signed off by your Doctor, HEARINGLife can sort out an appointment for you to have a full hearing test with a government accredited clinician. In addition, we will also be able to help you choose the best hearing device to suit your individual needs.

You can click here to find out more about government services for pensioners, or call 1800 340 631 to request a FREE* hearing check appointment with your local HEARINGLife clinic.
